Tim and I traveled to China from Korea to meet up with his parents and siblings for Jonathon and Ruolin’s wedding in China. We got to see several neat historical sites and enjoyed exploring with our family.

Tim and I had an amazing time in South Korea. We spent our time split between the cities of Seoul and Daegu.  We saw so many beautiful things, and spent time with some old friends from Texas A&M ! We hope to go back one day! There is so much more for us to see.

Houston Zoo January, Snow in Texas February, & Spring Break March 2011

As always, time just goes by way to quickly. I hope to do a better job posting in 2011! (So I started this post back in January… I’m sorry for being such a slacker!!!)

So here is what you missed!

November 2010!

School, School, THANKSGIVING!, and School! Tim and I were lucky enough to travel to Virginia for Thanksgiving with the Mann family! Mom, Dad, Jon, Ruolin, Cara and Christopher were all there too! We had a great time and even got to squeeze in our Christmas painting and also celebrate Dad’s birthday.

December 2010!

School, Finals, A trip to the Valley, School, and Christmas Break! Tim and I decided to stay in Texas this year. It looks like 2011 will have a ton of traveling, so we thought it would be best to have our First Christmas in Texas. My mom (Dee Ramirez) decided to join us this year. It was nice to have family with us. Thanks to technology we were able to Skype with the Mann Family (including Grandparents and even two aunts and an uncle!). For New Years, we went to San Antonio to visit the Cardonas (Great Friends of the Ramirez Family!). It was a great way to spend New Years.

2011!

January/February 2011

Somehow, January and February blurred into one and now we are in March.

Tim was accepted to an National Science Foundation program in Korea, where he will be researching for 8 weeks.

For Spring Break Tim and I went to Galveston for two days. We stayed at the Avenue O Bed and Breakfast, enjoyed the gulf breeze and nice scenery. Then on the way home we stopped at NASA! Unfortunately it was a short stay and break went by too quickly.

I’ll post picture soon! :)

Howdy!

Yesterday Tim and I went to McKinney State Park outside of Austin. It was a nice break from school. Then today we ordered a pizza and carved Tim’s first Jack-O-Lantern!

Enjoy our pictures! & HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

-The Manns

Tim didn’t just have a birthday week… it has been more like a birthday month! On his birthday we went to IHOP before a full day of school, then on Friday we had a party, then on Saturday we dressed up and went to a fancy restaurant for dinner and then went to the movies… then today (10/9/10) we went to Houston… first stop was a Mediterranean restaurant for lunch, next was the Houston Zoo,  and then an Indian restaurant for dinner! A full day and full bellies! :) It was a great break from school!

Quick update on school: Both Tim and I will be defending proposals of our research this semester! It has been a crazy and stressful semester, but some how we are managing it!

As always, time has escaped me! Here are some old pictures from August, when Tim and I went to San Antonio to visit my best friend Crystal who was in town and went visited the Lovett’s for Sotera’s Quinceanera! We also visited the Cardona’s (who have a BEAUTIFUL home in San Antonio and graciously let us stay the night!)… It was a great weekend of old friends!

For the month of July, my mom came to visit us! We had lots of fun traveling all over Texas and capturing the “Aggie Spirit!” We went to George Bush Library for the 4th of July, Huntsville State park, Fredricksburg, San Antonio, Kehma Boardwalk, Galveston and of course Aggieland. :)

Here are some pictures from our adventures! We had such a great time and awesome memories!

Hi Everyone!

If you would like to read a paper I wrote on Boys and Identity, it is posted on the Youth Development Initiative website, check it out at: http://www.ydi.tamu.edu/Briefs%20and%20Reports

Tim will be in San Antonio next week for the Computation Neuroscience 2010 conference, where he will be presenting a poster! And in late August Tim will be in Ann Arbor, MI at the IEEE 9th International Conference on Development and Learning, where he will be presenting a different poster. Both conferences will have a paper published in the conference proceedings and he also has a commentary being published in the Brains and Behavioral Sciences Journal.

Also, my mom has been visiting this summer and we have been having a great time! Pictures are to come! And some are on Facebook!

Take care, Laura
