Tim’s mom spent Spring Break with us here in Texas and we had such a great time. I had to work part of the week, so Tim took Mrs. Mann on a campus tour, the Bush Library and showed her around town. Then on Thursday and Friday (when my spring break started) we went to San Antonio! San Antonio is one of the coolest cities I have ever been too! The Alamo was really neat and right in the middle of downtown! The river walk was really pretty! And the city over all was just so fascinating! (There was so much to do and see! I am actually going back at the end of April for work! ) It was so good having Mrs. Mann here, we had so much fun. Tim and I welcome anyone to come and visit! We have a futon! I also discovered a Masters program that I am really interested in! It is a Masters in Public Health (with a concentration in Social and Behavioral Health). It is through the School of Rural Public Health at the Texas A&M Health Science Center (it is not TAMU, but it is in College Station). I’ve researched it a lot and the program is very friendly to full time professionals. They offer evening classes and even some weekend classes! It looks and sounds perfect for me. I also spoke to the recruiter and he said I should have no problem getting in… I really hope so! Please pray for me! I hope to have my application complete my May 1. If I get accepted, I will be starting in the fall and taking only one class- to get my feet wet. Other than that, Tim and I did our taxes and we are thankful next year with be easier (no NY state tax and 20 different w-2!! I had a lot of jobs in 2007!). I hope you all like our new blog! Let me know what you think! I will also be emailing the letter out! Take Care- The Manns!

Today my Grandma, Bernice Hall took her last breath on this earth. She has now gone to heaven to be with my grandpa. I truly appreciate all of your prayers. While I am very sad that she is gone, I’m also relieved that she is no longer in pain.

She was a great grandmother. She always made me wonderful dresses with matching ribbon for my hair. She always sent us goodies in the mail. She never forgot to call me on my birthday. She was interested in me and my life and always listened with an excited ear. I’ll always remember the fun trips we had. I will never forget how much she enjoyed the getting as close as possible to Niagara Falls and getting soaking wet on the “Maid of the Mist,” or how impressed she was by the Statue of Liberty. While I was not fortunate enough to visit my grandma often through out my life, she still made sure to be present in my life. I will never forget her or how much she means to me.

Dear Family and Friends! I hope that our update finds you well. As many of you know already, my Grandma Hall (my mom’s mom) isn’t doing very well. It is very upsetting, but she is ready and wants to go peacefully. Please pray that she will not be in a lot of pain. My mom and dad (who came back from Iraq) are in Washington with her right now. I don’t know how long they will be there. Please keep the Hall family in your prayers as this is a difficult time for us. In other news, Tim’s mom is coming to Texas THIS SATURDAY!!! Timothy and I are very excited. So excited, I finally put up our curtains! J It will be really nice to have her here. I hope that we will be able to go on a trip, since I have a four day weekend. I’m think we will go to San Antonio. I will take pictures and include them with my next newsletter. (FYI- We have a futon now!) Other than spring break, not much is going on. Please keep us updated with how you all are doing. We really would like to know. Take Care, Laura and Timothy Mann
